Got told earlier who wrote that crap - nearly fell off the seat when I heard he's the chairman too. Explains a lot!

Bottom line is that the Trust has disappeared up its own arse. Easy to blame committee folk but the members let a few fools destroy it. If Rae senior had had time for the fans it could have been so different but he hadn't - so the committee installed him in the Hall of Fame.

Sometimes you just have to laugh!

I am a loan note holder (from memory £500 in total). I'll be interested to see what we get back. If the loan notes totalled £120k, how the fuck did they manage to splurge that sort of sum away? I'd be interested to know if any of the office bearers (don't recall voting any of them in, nor do I actually know who they are) have any personal liability for the misappropriated cash.

So far as I understand, our £500 or bigger multiples of £500 are all accounted for in shareholdings in the club. Don't ask me to unravel the gobbledegook in that letter though! EmbarassedGREENOCK MORTON SUPPORTERS TRUST - Page 3 Screen15

I've got a five year old copy of Trust accounts and the £119k of loan note money is described as a fixed asset. The holders are described as creditors.

Surely that money must have been paid to the Club at the beginning in exchange for shares - in which case your £500 'investment' is only worth now what the shares it bought are worth now.

I'm not an accountant though. We only have a few contributors at this stage. Any of you understand this better?

The initial £119k bought shares in the club and the Trust was the second largest shareholder with just under 5%. I presume that the Trust still owns that percentage of the Club's 'share capital' (which at 2017 valuation was around £50,000), but I don't understand how individual loan note holders can receive hard cash unless the Trust's shareholding is sold - and to whom, and for how much.

I'm no accountant mind.Exclamation

Feel sorry for Alibi & Co. The Trust was launched on a high after Scott but could never have worked with Rae in charge.

As I said earlier in this thread, if the Trust get to a position where Point 4 comes into play, they really should be investigated by the authorites. If the Loan Note holders investment was £119k and these shares are now worth less than £50k, anything and everything the Trust can do should go to them. There certainly won't be anything left for the Community Trust if this is handled properly.

I guess they're just sticking to rules but if there's a 'surplus' after creditors get a fraction of what they paid in, there's something not right.

Excuse my ignorance here Alibi. What were the Loan Note holders told the money was for at the time?

Don't have much sympathy for any of that lot tbh. I was still up the road when that stuff started with wee Jim Gallacher, and the members done fuck all to stop it.

Please don't knock the members!

I was actively involved then, and we were assured that Mr. Gallacher couldn't account for a substantial amount of money. We had no reason to doubt Mr Robinson's expertise and integrity.

Wasn't there two organisers though? Why did the other guy not get accused?

Nothing to be gained by stirring up that hornet's nest again JB. Everything has been documented elsewhere, and at the end of the day it appears that Mr. Robinson single handedly brought the Trust to its knees.

Yes, I've seen that website. Takes a bit to get your head around it but once you get into it, all the facts are certainly there.

Anyway it doesn't matter how the Trust folded. It was dead for years and ended up a joke in the town!

He sure is. I've no idea what old Dougie was thinking making him a club Director.

Yes. They haven't even tried to get more people involved. The last two years AGM's didn't even happen. Anytime you try and ask them something, they pull out the 'We're volunteers' card.

Dissolving the Trust is too good for them. They should all be lined up at Cowans Corner, and stoned.
